FAQ/help

This is [community profile] inconformista's FAQ and help post. If you have problems with my layouts or any of my graphics, here's the place to ask for help.

How to install a Transmogrified layout

1. Go to the customize page and set your style to Transmogrified. Then save changes.
2. Go to customize your theme.
-Sidebar set up: go to modules and set up your sidebar to your liking.
You can edit your links list on link list.
3. Finally, go to custom css and UNSELECT the layout's stylesheet(s)
Now paste the overrides on the textbox and save the changes.

Installation may vary from layout to layout, so please read my posts and instructions carefully each time i post a layout!
If you need help or have a problem, please comment on this entry by copying and pasting this form:

Will you be converting your layouts to DW?:

No, all my Livejournal layouts are located @ [community profile] inconformista. I will only post DW based layouts here.

I want to affiliate my journal/community/site with [community profile] inconformista:

Just go to the AFFILIATION POST and drop a comment. Thanks!

Can i take your layouts and modify them to make my own?:

You may take my layouts, change the colours, replace the header and background to your own etc. However, those should be used for PERSONAL USE OF YOUR JOURNAL ONLY, and you shouldn't redistribute them around lj/the internet as if you made them. You must credit [community profile] inconformista every time you use that stylesheet/any of my stylesheets, codings, etc.

May i edit your graphics?:

→No, please. If you would like, you can make your own header and replace it on my layouts, but please don't edit my graphics.

Can i request a layout from you?:

No, unless i make a request post. Layouts are so time consuming. However, I take commissions, so you can read about it here.

Can i use your icons as bases?:

No unless stated otherwise.

I have seen people not giving you credit:

You could tell me (by PM or comment) if you were so kind and felt like it.

May i put your tutorials on my site/community?:

No, instead, link back to this community?

About [community profile] inconformista

As for me, I have been graphic designing since 2006 as a hobby. Whenever I have free time or feel bored, I open photoshop or start playing around with CSS and HTML. I can make layouts (livejournal, dreamwidth, website), winamp skins, wallpapers, icons... well, all that kind of stuff.

All I make is free to use as long as you give credit to this community. I make stuff for you to use because I think it's nice to offer people things they can use, and like it when you use them! :3

Lastly, I would like to point out that comments are my energy, your comments and criticism are always welcome and give me the will to keep making designs.

Hello! I have a question concerning The journalist. Is there any way to get the journal subtitle to show up in this layout? I've tried fiddling with the CSS as much as I can but I can't seem to figure it out. Thank you! :)

For some reason, for the new Kiki's Delivery Service layout, the images and preview aren't showing up at all? Perhaps it's just a glitch on my end, I dunno?

Hello! I have a question about Innocence. On the top, where the lacy header is, I get a bullet list. There's no text, just the dots. How can I remove that? Also, um, how do you make use of the hover bottombox?

I managed to figure out the bullet list on the top, but I'm still wondering about the bottombox. ^^;;;

Hi! I have a question about your Kiki layout. I was wondering if there's a way to bring the date/time closer to the subject line, so there's not such a huge gap between them?

Problem you are having: If you take a look on this journal now, you can see how the navigation kind of overlaps the sidebar. I can see it doing that on your journal too, but it doesn't in the screenshot you supplied. I've been fiddling with it a bit, but I can't find the section that would control the margins. Maybe I'm just completely blind, but I would super appreciate any help you might have!

I also moved the sidebar and entries up some, but I'm having trouble getting the title to move. I adjusted the margin values accordingly, but no matter what I change it to, the title doesn't budge. I'm also interested in adding the subtitle, as my initial title was very long and I'd like to display the whole thing. I tried copying the values in the title section into the subtitle section (instead of the display:none), but it didn't show up. Is there any way to make it show?
Any other comments: I really like this layout! Thanks for creating it and putting it out there! :3

Oh awesome, thank you! I thought it might be a resolution issue, but I'm gonna take a look on another computer tonight before I give adjusting it a shot. Thanks for the quick reply, I appreciate it! :D

Oh, one more thing - I'm having trouble finding the code for the background color of the entries. Or rather, I found a background color, but it only adjusts the background behind the actual entries. I'm trying to turn the white to an off-white, but I'm not sure which code is controlling the color anymore. :|a Let me know if that's not clear, I can try for some screenshots when I get home. xp

Thanks again! <3

Problem you are having: With the July 14th code push it happened to break the navigation bar right at the top of the page, shoving it down into the way.
Any other comments: I love this layout and still want to use it, even though it's gone a bit wonky with the code push! I thought you'd want to know it's somewhat broken just in case people don't realise in the future when they apply it.

This isn't a direct layout thing, but I wanted to point out that several of your layouts now have broken images.

Problem you are having: I'm not getting two columns unless I zoom out to 90%. Normally I keep my browser zoomed in to 125%. Is it possible for the columns to be separated by percent rather than size? That would solve the problem I believe. I've also noticed the nav bar at the top is shoved down for some reason.
Any other comments: The next page button might be more intuitive if it were at the bottom rather than on the side.

I was just coming to make a similar comment. I didn't know it worked in Chrome (as I only use FF). Hopefully I can leech off this issue.

Here's an image of how it appears on my browser.

Hello, I am currently using the Vampire Five Am layout. I left the size of the header the same - 700 x 450. However, when I put in a new image url for the header, the gray journal title box gets smaller: https://impala-chick.dreamwidth.org/ Is there a way to just delete that gray title box?
